With the alarm raised by the spread of deadly viruses that cause death and sickness - such as the Bird Flu (H5N1 Avian Flu), H1N1 etc.

How do we protect ourselves and our loved ones?


Those who are particularly weak and need special care are:

toddler

Toddlers, Young children.

Reason: Their immune systems are young and not as developed. Little or no exposure to harsh germs.

seniors

Older People, senior citizens.

Reason: Their sedentary lifestyles, and their aging - tend to lead to a weakening of the immune system.

Reason: Those with suppressed immune systems (whether caused by disease or treatment- such as chemotherapy)

People who are travelling

Reason: In the confined spaces, germs can spread. Also when you travel to a foreign place/country you body is typically not used to the bugs there.

Its no secret - a strong immune system allows you to remain well, while others in near you catch the cold or a flu.

Prevention: Social distancing.

Keep away from crowds, especially clusters. This applies especially to school children. Others - crowed expo etc.

Sufficent rest, don't overstrain.

Stress runs down the immune system. Sufficient good quality rest picks it up.

Exercise, and fresh air - the essentials for good health.
